• Re: THE BEOWORLD AWARDS 2010 - LIVE !!

I finally had the energy to go home and check my mail... a package slip had arrived, and it was waiting at the post office. I picked it up and drove back to the summer house. Remember when you were a kid and hoped for hard presents for Christmas? This was soft on the surface, but still marked both fragile & agile!
It is just about the biggest remote control in the world ever, though... would it be possible to control it using a Beo4 or a Beolink 1000 instead, or are they different systems?
Completely different, unfortunately. Look for a Terminal 5000 if you want a hand held remote for the system (I think I just saw

  • Re: Prince: 1999 on CD

I just installed the Windows client under Wine on Ubuntu, and it works without a glitch! Uses about 10% of CPU time of the 1.6G Atom N160. The volume of the ads is highly annoying though. I'll need to see if I can stand them to actually use this, I don't think I'll get any paid service. And yes, "Little Red Corvette" seems equally

Axel will replace the entire cantilever anyway, so I guess it would be no problem if the coils are still OK (and if the cantilever is still there, I don't think the internals have been damaged). Never happened to me, but I don't expect he'd charge anything if it can't be repaired, so you wouldn't have anything to lose. I'd always

Seems the market area has changed then, but it still won't run under Windows 2000, which incidentally is all I have outside work. Might try the Linux setup though, so an invite is greatly appreciated I'll PM you.

  • Re: Beomaster 900 with CD player?

CD is no problem, you connect it to the tape input with a DIN-RCA -adapter (or directly if it happens to be a B&O CD with a DIN connector). The grammophone input may have a pre-amp (depending on version), but it isn't really suited for modern magnetic pickups. You could connect the turntable to the tape input with an externall RIAA pre-amp,
