Welcome to BeoWorld! Not sure where you are, nor if the BG has a good cartridge (or what spec it is)... but, IMHO, that is a lot of $ for one!

I am not positive on this, and my BC9300 is in another location, so I can't test. But, if the motors are timed, try removing the belt (to remove any resistance from the equation) from the CD motor and re-time it. I *think* that these motors are "clutched" in the sense that if they receive any resistance, they will stop. This would also
