You've got various options. You can get a stand-alone DVD-player that you can connect to your Mac, and that does not have region limitations (such creatures exist -- Pioneer even has one you can install in your computer replacing the one that's there). Or: Which Superdrive do you have, the Matsushita or the Hitachi-LG? Check through About this

Alex: Definitely not, sorry! We'd have to come round and do some 're-installing' if you were allowed to get away with this The BeoLab 3500 is a stereo loudspeaker by itself, and by getting two of them, you'll effectively be listening to two pairs of lower-quality loudspeakers, rather than a single higher quality speaker. Absolutely something

I like the concept behind the Serenata, but wonder whether Motorola will get upset by the pebble references? The Superbowl 2006 featured a commercial with their pebble phone. http://www.visit4info.com/static/advert_pages/30309.cfm?back_page=29.cfm

The WiFi in the iPhone and iPod Touch connects with ease to all WiFi providers -- commercial and free. I've been surfing on my Touch without any problems at all, and much faster than both 2.5 and 3G ... I know there is one for the BL6000, but for the BL8000. Are you sure about this? As you, I only know of the one for BL6000. But there's a post above claiming

Peter: I did eventually try it as an MP3 player but I have a 160Gb iPod as well so I don't see it getting much use! It does do videos nicely though! The screen is big enough! I did use it for web browsing Beoworld a little but I don't think the screen is really big enough. I think its major role will be as a remote. Yes, I set up some bookmarks

Peter: I never put the computer to sleep. I think I need to do a bit od reaaranging of my wireless though as the command will be going to the Airport Extreme and then to the computer before going back to the Extreme and then to the iPod. I'll hard wire the Extreme to the computer and see if that helps. I'll wait till my new HDD arrives probably

Just checked my Touch. It hadn't been used since yesterday, and the same with the Mac mini. The Touch/Mini responded instantly, taking me from the Now Playing Window>Library>Home>Artists>Veronique Gens>Selected track without any pauses, and resulting in instant playback. I'll look at my settings this evening.
