Suspect the rubber drive bands have broken/perished. After a period of no use they become stuck to the pulleys/wheels and break when you try to use the tape deck again. This is certainly true in Beocenter 9000/9300/9500 types and I don't suppose it is any different in an Ouverture.

The square plate was originally supplied with the speakers and was able to be used on either floor stands, wall brackets or ceiling poles depending on your mounting choice at the time.

Section 5.17 of the Ouverture service manual has "Service program for Cd section" with list of errors and their possible meanings. I am sure the 2300 service manual has similar.

You will need to cut through the legs of a couple of capacitors to disable the pre amp. Then you will need to change the datalink in the din plug from pin 7 to pin 5 ( or the other way!) as non RIAA systems expect the datalink on a different pin. All in all it's better to sell the 7000 and buy a Beogram 9500 or similar!!

I've made a temporary repair with some fine wirewrapping wire and everything works. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement for just the cable or is it simply supplied

Opman: Hi and welcome to BeoWorld. All main B&O products are shipped with a 4 digit pin code. If the unit is disconnected from the mains for more than 30 minutes, the pin code locks the product when you switch it back on. Normally when you re-connect the mains supply and switch on, you will be prompted for the pin. If you are being told to "wait"
