I would agree - the 4002 has a lot missing that the 4000 has but despite that it manages to sound remarkably similar! The 4000 was designed by engineers and I have a suspicion that it probably had a very small profit margin! The 4002 was subject to the bean counters but they essentially removed the fripperies! How often do you need an arm to track backwards

The speakers are identical with regard to drivers and electronics The 7.6 does have a larger volume - 8 litres a side as opposed to 6 litres for the 7.2, but the quoted frequency responses are identical. 37 - 20,000Hz.

I must confess that I think a seller offering warranty on a 20 year old system is a brave man! He may argue that the stylus was working when he sold it and it has been broken. However the other faults should be covered. To repair the MMC2 with a new sapphire cantilever and line contact diamond will cost €159, which seems ridiculously low to me

The VX7000 has no IR eye. It is controlled via a Beovision with the remote signals being picked up by the TV and sent along the SCART cable. No Beovision, no remote control. To change which remote works, first you need to make sure you have the correct VX7000! Early ones have a type number starting 45, later ones start 46. Only later ones work with
