I was starting this post on the BeoLab 10 high res thread, but thought that it might need its own thread as I started to go a bit off topic. In the past few days I've viciously defended the prices and technology of our televisions, especially the BeoVision 7, but one of the things that I will not defend is the design slump on the video side. The

Kokomo, Yes, technically this should work just fine. Be ready for terrible video quality, though. The novelty of this setup is one thing, but once it's set up and reality sets in, you'll probably only use it for the music. I could be wrong though! Good luck either way.

Thanks Mr. A, Is there anything that needs to be set up, or will the connection simply "assimilate" the outboard memory? -Trip

Gentlemen, After experimenting with BeoMedia and video playback, I've found it to be quite excellent for storage and playback of movies and television shows downloaded from bit torrent. However, I can see a time in the near future where 250GB is not enough memory. Is it possible to connect an external hard drive? Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

I am superkalifrajalisticexpliala-done with this thread. I'm going over to Boseworld.org where everyone is totally ass-over-teacups in love with their tweeters and tubes. Those people are fun. Their eyes are a bit close together, but they're fun.

I appreciate your appreciation! But I disagree that with the notion that the majority of B&O clientele are comparing specs with other manufacturers. While every poster here may be an owner of some kind, many of the comments seem to reflect more budgetary concerns than technological ones. For example, the BeoVision 8 has been criticized for no surround

The Scart on the BeoVision 8 is an input. The only way to achieve what you want with a BeoVision 8 is to interrupt the feeds from the devices with some sort of switcher that would get flipped when you wanted the picture up on the wall. This would mean that you lost PUC control through the BV8 and would have to use the native remotes. Otherwise, an AV

With the doom and gloom thread wheezing to an end, I thought I'd take a stab at expressing what I love so much about Bang & Olufsen in a context other than defending it! I love that after almost 90 years in an industry that's more and more hostile towards build quality and "the long view," Bang & Olufsen continues to build

Thanks JK for the perspective. I think that a thread like this is natural in a period where technology is in flux, a CEO was released, and economies are slowing down. We all love B&O and when we criticize it's like a parent seeing a child making poor decisions and wishing there was a way to lend them our wisdom and perspective. What I would

If you ran a projector, it would have nothing to do with the BeoVision 8. I don't know what your history with B&O is, but consider it more like the MX than an Avant. Bang & Olufsen tvs seem to fall neatly into either televisions or home cinema systems, the latter being able to control a second monitor (like a projector), drop a screen, dim
