In my experience the speakers usually have foam rot but it does'nt stop them from working. I suggest a PM to nobby who has much knowledge of MX's. Another thing to try is to switch the sound output to MONO and see if both speakers work this tests out the Nicam board. I freely admit that I have learnt all this MX stuff from nobby so you are better

AFAIK these are the correct adjustments. I have never seen any others quoted for CDM4 devices. Several versions of the CDM4 were fitted to the various Beocenters but are essentially very much the same and you can usually mix and match without problems. If it works dont fix it!

I suggest S45-2. Excellent sound quality, usually available on eBay at reasonable price and don't suffer from foam rot.

Peter : tournedos: Peter : Could someone with a Windows computer check that the new PCG software is working - someone has reported it is corrupted but I cannot check as I am on a Mac!! Edit: I see you meant the Product Configuration Guide Unfortunately no, I can't open it with WinZip 8.1. Perhaps the archive uses a feature that is not supported

I have had problems in the past with the plug/socket on the main board where the speaker connects.

The type of speakers should not make a difference. Just re-set the option to 1 and you should be away as normal.
-
Are your speakers plugged in????? It defaults to Option 0 without them!!!!!!

pjorde: Graham, That's it! I removed the dummy plug before setting it up and my wife had actually thrown it away. I retrieved it after getting your response and it works great. Thanks for the quick reply!! Pete You are not the first and you will not be the last!

There is no configuring to do on the 9500 so suggest that you try another set of speakers. Do ypu have a set of passives that you could try? Have you tried a pair of headphones? Could be that the line in/out dummy plug is missing? (a white disc shaped plug in the socket bay)

Did all MX5000's have stand software included in the chip? Somewhere in the distant past I seem to remember changing a chip for this very reason. Or was that a 5500? nobby will know for sure. Suggest you pm him.
