  • Re: Keep non B&O stereo or opt for B&O 9500

I'd guess that the Avant will sound better, Kenwood weren't exactly renown for producing fantastic speakers. Your best bet, however, is just to compare them now. Test playing a CD through the Avant from whatever means you have right now (DVD or CD player), and then through the Kenwoods, and see which you prefer. You may well prefer the Kenwoods as these

  • Re: New Apple laptop + B&O speakers?

Goldfrog88: I read in a few articles that the MacBook Pro might be upgraded with LED backlights on the 15 and 17-inch models and there is the possibility of a BluRay R-W drive being added, albeit at only 2X speed. There already is an LED backlight in the 15" model [;) If they do add BluRay R-W, then I'd have to see about getting one fitted in my current

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

Craig: Thanks Alex, I will dig it out and take a look. My ex Father-in-law used to have an original Mono version of Sergent Peppers. Even had the original reciept inside, showing it was purchased on the day of release. Craig The mono ones are rarer than the slightly later Stereo ones I believe. As for what's playing right now, it's Belief by John Mayer

  • Re: Still can't stop buying old B&O!!

tournedos: I know the feeling. Last summer I saw a Beomaster 900K (the wide one with built-in speakers) at a flea market, and immediately knew I had to have it. I knew before what B&O was, but that was about it. The salesperson said I could bring it back if it didn't work. Fat chance! I had to fix one of the output stages and still have work

  • Re: Beolab 2 vs anything else

If you do want to look at getting a subwoofer instead of upgrading to BeoLab 9s, then the best bets would be a BeoLab 2, B&W PV1 or else from their range, an REL subwoofer (these are very good indeed) or a Velodyne.

  • Re: Fault: BeoSound 4 shutting down.

Dave: Do you own one? We had plenty of issues, and i continue to read in forums about bs4 failing, and having some sort of problem No, I don't own one, but I have heard nothing about build quality issues with the BeoSound 4. If there were any, I would have heard about them...

The BeoLab 2 is very good, especially if you enjoy movies. It'll really deliver the punch and power needed for a good movie. There are other subwoofers with better performance for music, but they wouldn't be as suited to movies. I consider an alternative upgrade to the BeoLab 2 as switching your main speakers to BeoLab 9s. Not only is the bass performance

Craig: Alex: Fleetwood Mac's Rumours on vinyl - fantastic condition original pressing. Not at all rare but the original pressings are better than any of the re-releases. Sounds stunning. Got a copy on vinyl too, not sure if it is an original pressing. How do I tell? Craig Look on the back. If it says Made in Germany by WeA Musik GmbH then it's an

Jandyt: Done it again. Just got a Beogram 1500 (old type), a Beomaster 1700 tuner and two Beovox 1000 for £5! Andy T. The older systems are still wonderful. I've had the pleasure of listening to a BeoMaster 900 and BeoVox 500s recently (sadly not 600s), and there's something very 'fun' about listening on these older systems. It's kinda like saying
