Absolutely spot on Graham. I still don't know why my dealer wouldn't supply me with replacement speaker drivers though, he quoted the same reasons which sort of made me wonder exactly how dangerous the insides of a pair of CX's could possibly be Chris.

It isn't too difficult James, the holes are drilled in your already broken speaker frets - not the speakers themselves so you really have nothing to lose. Chris.

Hi James, when I did my repair I used dry wall plaster board plugs (the grey ones) and cut off the 2 "arrow head" type prongs. I drilled holes in the speaker cover points where the original locating pins were and piloted some screws into them before unscrewing them and cutting off the heads. Next I glued the blunt ends of the screws with epoxy

If you mean the "plugs" are broken then Andy's fix is a way of getting round this, it is basically a method of replacing these plugs. This is quite a common problem with this series of speakers. nikeyboy1212: Totally DISAGREE .............. All you guys know the pro's and cons of EBAY....................... Yes there are pro's and cons but the problem I have now is that ebay is far too loaded in favour of the buyer and sellers have no recourse whatsoever to balance this enequity. As a seller you can now only leave positive feedback

Tell me about it! I've had loads of trouble (like everyone else I suspect) with idiot buyers. I don't give them 2nd chances though and immediately block them from bidding again on my sales. The removal of being able to leave negative feedback for buyers has made the situation 10 fold worse. I've just received my first ever negative from

rayfenwick: Well, I don't suppose this was too bad for £80... I plugged it in, and it works fine. A bit of glue, and some paint on the underside of the glass to repair small scratches, and it'll be perfectly acceptable until I find some better panels - really! (Sits back grinning smugly, and can't stop giggling.....) I wondered who

Welcome to Beoworld. Don't worry about foam rot - these have rubber surrounds so won't be a problem - ever! If you don't know the exact spec's of the thweeters then I would just replace the cap's as per original. I don't know of a list for the cap's but I would personally contact member Dillen (Martin) as he can supply you

I don't see a need to delete it, everyone is entitled to their opinions within the behavioural guidelines of beoworld. At the end of the day if not enough members are willing to upgrade to gold membership to allow the site to stand on its own feet then funds have to be raised somehow and STB brackets have been one of our staunchest supporters in
