I agree with Mika. Regarding lubricants, the most important thing is to clean off all the old dried lubricants since this is what brakes the whole mech. A combination of IPA, cloth, pipe-cleaners, cotton buds and patience will usually do. The brass rods can sometimes hold on to the dried stuff very stubbornly and you may have to use a little steelwool

It lifts straight up and off. But you MUST mark the tray and gear together. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! Sorry about this, but it's not apparent to all owners that speaker switches are found under the large aluminum lid. Still no luck, it may have a muting circuit fault. I've seen this a couple of times, most often the related opamp itself is at fault. The tapedeck section will need new belts, that's very common. I can

There are two set screws and then it screws off. Make sure to mark EVERYTHING, some of the gears are put together in a special way (coded) but bears no markings of this, and they need to be put back together in the exact same way. I seem to remember it being a 24V lamp 25mA or so. It's not listed in the service manuals but I think it is in the tech notes. Probably slightly underrun in voltage to extend lifespan. Martin

Too low antenna signal or a tuner sensitivity fault. You can test the meter, they are sometimes mechanically seized. The signal meter will normally give a reaction if you put an ohm-meter across it. Martin

Inside a small plastic housing at the foot of the carriage, you will find a sensor, a lamp and an interrupter that follows the movement of the tonearm. I'm sure you will find the lamp is defective. Martin

The surface is eloxated aluminum. You can achieve a decent surface by spraying a suitable alu/silver color, car-paint springs to mind, but you will never be able to recreate the original directional hair-line eloxation that B&O put on it. Don't sand or grind it, it will only produce large dark areas, it will not remove scratches. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! The motor will not start because you move the arm (like Beogram 1000 etc.). You must select record size and speed and then press the black start button. Martin
