• Re: Redline speaker mounts

Are those office table legs, kallasr? Clever job. All that's missing compared to the originals is the clamp (needed for adjustments) and the plastic cover for the ceiling mounting plate! Finding three pairs (including one for RL140) could take years on eBay so something like this seems the way to go - no need to be too fancy as you probably can't
Thanks Philippe and Graham, clearly I am doing something "wrong" ... I dragged this address (http://translate.google.co.uk/?hl=en#) to my Safari bookmark bar and I even removed the "#" although google/safari reinsert it when I hit the link
That is unrelated - the problem Graham and Philippe

I'd start with recapping the crossovers before thinking about the tweeters (or anything else for that matter). I didn't see / hear any need of further modifications after that.

Accurate repro isn't that easy, as the clamp around the pole is a large block of machined aluminum(?). There's also the plate at the end of the pole that screws to the ceiling (or floor, as the ones I bought had been previously used - the inventiveness of some people ). Of course if you start doing these yourself they won't have to look

  • Re: Redline speaker mounts

There are actually ceiling mounts available for all of these - they don't usually fetch huge prices but can be quite hard to come by. It's just a pole (perhaps 50 mm in diameter) and a moveable clamp around it. The part of the mounting that attaches to the speaker is actually the same for all mounting options (ceiling pole, floor stand, wall

  • Re: MX5500 BM4500 options question

Yes, I believe the only "good" setup is having the speakers connected to the TV. The downer is that the amps in the MX aren't that great, and I wouldn't trust the quality of the audio routing circuitry that much either (so even active speakers wouldn't solve the whole problem)... I once tried to setup my BS6500 (with passive Pentas
Cosmetically after a good cleaning it actually shows really well or as well as it can show. It really is a pretty nice sounding amp I would keep it as a main unit it it werent so damned ugly. In the end I will probably donate it to one of the local dance companies. As "Made in Western Germany" hints, they must be pre-1991, and "4086" means probably week 40 in 1986. Nokia used to own TV factories in Germany as well before concentrating on mobile phones, and this "SEL" speaker factory might have been something Nokia bought out at some time, and the name was changed. Anyway it was probably
