Yes, the BG3500 will interface directly with an Ouverture. All the Beograms with built in RIAA preamps are sought after because they are compatible with most of the modern B&O units such as Ouverture and all of it's derivatives, Beosound 9000, Beosound 4 (with adapter) and Beocenter 9300

Are you sure that the tweeters are still working? It is very easy to melt the voice coils. Easiest way to check is to disconnect them and measure their resistance. Closed circuit means they are blown.

a2bur: Hello Graham Yes they can if they have some large enough cast flat stock ( I've got 5 ton of it ) but most won't have it so make it out of steel , texture the surface to match or smooth the original and paint them both , you will only see the difference next to an original , just a suggestion for a cheaper alternative . mor: Does anyone know whether one could buy a single iron cast foot for a Beolab 8000? (the heavy metal base that the slim lower tip of the speaker slides in?) When moving the one of mine has gone missing :-( They will be available from your dealer as a spare part.

koning: Why don't you give us some more details??????? Because he would probably lose his job if he did! Would you chance it? B&O have obviously drawn a viel of secrecy over the project to highten the excitement. An excellent ploy. Just look at you all, wetting yourselves just to get a glance at a picture.........grow up all of you ........

Try it with the passive speakers plugged in to Spk2 sockets. If they work now then this points to a knackered Mute relay. If they still don't work then you could have a blown a fuse on the power amp board. This is the board which is vertical and runs along the back of the unit just inboard of the heat sinks. There are two fuses towards the end of
