Result! A good tip to prevent a re-occurrance of the wires shorting (courtesy of member Craig) is to filll the din plug casing with silicon sealant before reassembling. Chris.

Sorry all you Eagles fans out there but "Hotel California" is one of the very few tracks I wouldn't let any where near any of my B&O - I hate that track with a passion! My favourites depend on the media involved, for vinyl it has to be The Beatles "A Day In The Life". Favourite CD/Digital media track at the moment for me

I can't believe no one has mentioned Lewis Hamiltons last 2 performances (GB & German GP's). so I will. Just how good is this kid going to get? Frighteningly prodigious. Chris.

The Beogram 7000 (& 6500) differs to the 5500 in that it has an inbuilt RIAA (preamp) whereas the 5500 hasn't. You would have to disconnect this before connecting to a beoamster 5500 or the noise would be horrible. Chris.

The CDX & CD50 both produce a warmer more "analogue" type of sound than the others in the B&O range. I cannot honestly say I can differentiate between any of the other models that I have heard which include the Beocenters, the other stacking types, the CDX 2 & CD3300. Chris.

rayfenwick: Heartbreakingly, it is obvious that it was pristine until its fall..Does anyone know how much replacement panels are, by any chance? I think they're around the £100 mark, but spare parts prices have just been reassessed with some rises & some falls by all accounts. Chris.
