Well done ! Something like that is pretty hard to diagnose through a forum. Martin

You can switch it on and off but that's about it. Everything from volume control and upwards require a remote and that could be a Beolink 1000 for the everyday tasks and/or a Master Control Panel (MCP) 5500 for everything. Martin

Helt enig. - Og ikke varmere end hånd-varmt, ellers kryber stoffet. Martin

Could you have pulled too hard in the cable, causing it to losen at the amplifier end ? Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! Thanks for your input, greatly appreciated ! The main problem is that Paypals legal user agreement changes once in a while and what I experienced is actually in thread with their current regulations. In other words, make sure to read the whole thing very thoroughly and especially when they make changes. Don't just accept them

There's no kit and no plans of one. But that usually means that a specific need for a kit hasn't been noted. I believe, I have a couple of amplifier hybrid IC's in the drawer and the rest is more or less standard components so I don't see a parts problem, really. Most TV repairers will also be able to check an FM tuner. Martin

Which type of Beomaster 2000 are we talking about ? It's correct that kits exist for the older 1970's version but none are available for the newer 80's one. At least not yet. My guess is that yours are the newer version - because it was bought with CX speakers. In that case, distortion is almost 100% safe to say from the hybrid amplifier

The only difference from the Beocenter 2000 to the Beocenter 2002 is that the 2002 has support for metal cassette tapes. I wouldn't be surprised in some people would think this a bit overkill for a deck in this position but many owners of Beocenter 2000/2002 actually like them very much. As Peter says, this is an entry model and it is doing a fine

Welcome to Beoworld ! Probably oxidation to the switches related to the tray mech. or a wire has broken off. Martin

I don't have a factory new bearing but I may ba able to find a good used mech. section, or parts from one. I will look. Martin
