You're right. Anyway, as they are passive speakers with an 4-8 ohm impedance, they should connect fine to the Beomaster 4500. Martin

Beovox 1000 woofers have no foam but the flexible paper surround can sometimes dry out and crack though it is a bit rare to see. The Beovox 1000 has standard 2-pin DIN plugs that will fit directly into the speaker sockets of the Beomaster 4500 and it will work fine. Martin

Oh, that one was for me. You have an answer to your PM and email. Martin

Is the noise from the deck itself or from the speakers ? Can you describe the noise ? Martin

I've seen more than a few. The filters sort different frequencies to them, one acting as a filler and the other as woofer but the two drivers are perfectly identical, with same part no's so they should look and feel the same when dismounted. There are no passive elements in any of the P-series speakers. Martin

Beovox P45 and P50 woofers are identical. Not that it helps a lot, I'm afraid. These are wonderful speakers and I am still experimenting with finding a fix for the woofers. They are not easy to match with any modern replacements, at least none I've found so far so the best would be to repair the originals if possible. So hang on to them, I'm

Can you tell if the motor runs (feel the capstans if you cannot hear it)? If the motor doesn't run, check the voltage on it's leads. Something like 12-14 V is to be expected if the power supply is OK. If you have voltage but the motor does not run, check the tapedeck belts. Old belts can easily snap or fall off and seize the whole mech. If the

Most likely a stuck coil caused by a lose magnet. It happens in transport and when moving the speakers around and is a matter of old glue letting go. The two woofers (all four) are identical and should also feel so. The same applies to the slightly more common Beovox P45. Martin

The S607 speaker was made in 1961. It's a two-way bass-reflex speaker with the dimensions 30x30x70cm, comprising a woofer of B&O's own production, the TV 160 KINO that were heavily used in those years for both TV's and radios, accompanied by an Elac TW 4/01 tweeter. They are 3-5 Ohms impedance and meant for use with valve amplifiers

Yes, and be prepared to say goodbye to all agreements made regarding the deal, including Ebays buyer/seller protection program and general trade regulations. If Paypal is the chosen method of payment, Paypal alone will rule. Worse than the legal issues Microsoft face occasionally. Martin
