Have you thought about Beovox Pentas? I use them with my Beomaster 8000 and they look and sound GREAT! Depends on what kind of interior you have, as I think the Pentas look much smarter in a contemporary interior than the wood-clad models. There's a wow factor to them that's not quite there with the MS150s, though I've heard many good things

You're welcome David! Thanks for updating us. It's good to hear that one of these wonderful machines has been returned to its former glory. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many years to come :) Do keep coming back to Beoworld. I first posted asking how I could get my Beolit 609 fixed (and came away with Tim Jarman's contact details

Dillen: Other amps would have blown but not the BM8000, wonderful machine ! Martin They're wonderful - it's the pride of my collection :)

Hi Martin You were correct. I had left the unterminated ends of the speaker wire a little long, and where they stuck out of the back of the +ve and -ve DIN terminals they were exceptionally close and I can easily see how one strand could have shorted and burnt through. Dillen: Check inside the DIN plugs on your speaker cables, both ends if possible. Could be a stray wire strand shorting the terminals. The Beomaster 8000 will drive even very heavy loads, all the way down to 1 ohm or even less and one single wire strand will easily glow, smoke and eventually burn through without causing permanent damage to the Beomaster

jandyt: Guess you'll have a fried spider running rolling round your lounge now! Andy T. It certainly picked the wrong place to hide.....!

Evening All Just hooked up my BM 8000 for the first time since I moved house, and thought I detected some interference on the left channel. As I've been using new speaker cables, I thought that perhaps I'd got the polarity wrong or not screwed the DIN connectors in all the way. Anyway, tried shifting the balance to the left channel and as I

Thanks Soundproof. Will have a look to see if I can find some in the UK. What do you think of this? Will it be able to handle the grunt from the BM8000? http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=QED-MICRO

Not wanting to open a can of worms here about speaker cables, but am looking for some advice from more experienced Beoworlders than I. Having recently moved, I need to re-connect my Beovox Pentas to my Beomaster 8000. Previously I'd been using some 300 strand wire made by Gale at about £2.50 a metre. I was working on the assumption that 150w
