I think the first thing to do is to try and return it to the seller for a refund. Obviously not as described! How did you pay for it? Paypal? Have you checked the fuse in the plug!!! There are a number of fuses on the Beocenter 9500, any of which could have blown. If it is a fuse, why did it blow?

BS9000 does not have Datalink so remote control is not possible. The BG9500 does not have RIAA pre amp and neither does BS9000 so you will need an external one between the two items. Not ideal but would work. You could always point the questioner at my BG6500 or BG7000 which both have RIAA and are currently for sale on eBay!!!

The majority of you can't/won't afford it so you are not the people that B&O have ever aimed their products at and I hope very much that they don't

Do ceiling speakers and serious listening really go together? Perhaps I'm just old fashioned.

Who did you order them from?

My money would be on the cartridge, as Chris has suggested, or the mute switch. Since replacement cartridges are so expensive, your cheapest option is to beg borrow or steal one as a temporary replacement. There is no real other way of testing yours and I would do this before you get diverted at a number of tangents once you start to delve inside the
