  • Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem

seanklemis: just a thought what resolution do you have the sky box set to ???? they must have tested this in house and beta testers woudl have noticed It's set to 1080i. Nothing has changed apart from the sw update. I'm doing some more tests. This is really weird - it only seems to happen when the link TV is on. If I just watch via the BV7,

Major problem: I'm constantly getting a Sky warning that 'this display does not support HDCP' after the new sw update. Screen goes blue with the warning. WTF? This keeps happening every 2 minutes. I've tried turning off the Sky box, shutting down at the mains and everything? Any ideas?

Ok, my BV7-40 MKIII was upgraded to sw 5.00a this afternoon. All seems fine so far. I'll report back on the crash-to-off later in the week (that's the number one fix for this sw). I expect it's fixed though.

Does anyone know that the all-important 'crash to off' issue is fixed? I'm going to wait for some feedback before asking my dealer to install sw 5. I don't think they'll take too kindly to having to install more sw in the future.

meandmyshadow: moxxey, why are you taking this so personally? I'm not taking it personally at all. If my response appears that I have taken it personally, then I apologise. However, your theory can apply to any business. Margins are not calculated based on factoring in every business expense. Margins are based on the difference between your retail

meandmyshadow: I am sure you would get 1 hours worth of install free but what sort of install would that be for a TV that costs that amount of money and if it is only costing you £35 then i think your getting a bargain. It costs the *dealer* £35/hour for them to employ the external engineer. I'm not talking about them marking this up

meandmyshadow: As usuall the conversation of price and discounts portray the dealers as the 'bad guy's' i don't know about the rest of the world but the UK franchises have very small margins. In fact when speaking to a retailer some years ago they showed me the business model for Bang & olufsen retailers, it showed a net profit of

  • Re: Other BeoSound5 functionality

Alex: Agreed! I do hope a higher form of integration is offered with iTunes. Some kind of automatic discrete syncing would be good... Like TuneRanger: www.allume.com. This tool automatically synchronises the tracks in your various iTunes-based libraries. No reason B&O couldn't do something similar that would sync your iTunes-based libraries

  • Re: Beosound 5 poll anyone?

Alex: Don't confuse WiFi and BeoLink Wireless - the two are really quite different! In fact the BeoLink Wireless is quite a special little piece of kit. Producing a reliable latency free digital transmission system is no easy feat. The BeoLink Wireless works completely differently to say, iTunes streaming over WiFi. Alex, I think I know a bit about

  • Re: VAT at 15%?

In the UK, despite the current climate, dealers seem more determined to source as much income as possible. ie. no discount. Worse, I've heard that some UK dealers have changed their policy on installation costs and some of the prices do not include installation.
