  • Re: Beo 5 question

The BeoMedia 1 is the only snag there. While Alex is right, we do sell them without the programming, you'll need the PC or V.AUX command as well as a MENU button, which is not initially present at this point. The setup you described does not actually need a Beo 5, but then again, Bang & Olufsen isn't about needs! I would explain to your

  • Re: cabinet for beovision 7-40

After much searching, I'm going to have one custom fabricated for a client for deliver at the end of this summer. At least in the US, where B&O has a smaller presence, there is no option to accommodate the set.

  • Re: Beolab 6000 "buzzing" advice.

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. Several mains sockets are grouped together on an electrical circuit. It's not an issue of a lamp being plugged into the same socket, but rather a lamp or a fixture in the same room somewhere else.

With very few exceptions, when I have dealt with this in the field it turns out that there is a lighting product on the same electrical circuit, usually a dimmer. Placing the 6000s on a circuit without a lighting product could possible solve the issue. Hope this helps, I have dealt with it personally as well and it can drive you completely nuts.

  • Re: Ideas for a new product

I'd like to see more modularity. It's not exactly a product, but I think that complaints leveled at current video pricing do not take into account how much technology is under the hood. That being said, however, not all of that is needed in many (if not most) scenarios. Take a product like the BeoSystem 3. If I were Bang & Olufsen, I wouldn't

  • Re: Apple TV with Avant ?

Thomas, Yes. I think that it comes down to how you want to use the precious RGB resource on your Avant/BeoSystem 1. Since the input groupings are more concrete on the Avant than the BeoSystem 3 and its variants, you will have to have the Apple TV as STB and the STB as V.AUX. Other than that it will have to downscale, but on Apple TV at this point in

  • Re: B&O Best Brand 2008 in Car-Hifi

I was actually curious about that. Have B&W systems actually been put into cars yet or are they about to debut in new models (like the XF)? It seems like they'd be on the list if they were already out.

  • Re: surround experience with front 5's and back 4's ?

Alex, This might be a part of it, but they got the same notice when they were on floor stands. Even against BeoLab 3s in the same placement. I think Russ hit it on the head. The 3s and the 9s have the same voice, so they don't stand out as much, but rather add to the experience in a natural and proportional way, whereas the 4s are like little yapping

  • Re: New Beovision 4

Gentlemen, I agree that when you examine these things on paper, the higher number looks great. I would argue (having stood in front of them at work for 8 hours a day and then sat at home and watched one), is that increasing this particular figure is somewhat like increasing bhp in an automobile. At best it presents an oppurtunity to build a better performing

  • Re: surround experience with front 5's and back 4's ?

While the purist in me is throwing up in my mouth, the realist in me says that this is probably a fine idea. The setup in one of our shops here actually uses this very setup, while the other uses BeoLab 9s all around. While sitting in the BeoLab 9 setup, clients consistantly ask if there are loudspeakers in the rear (I guess they think they're dwarf
