Based on your problem statement and assuming the problem has always existed in the current configuration setup, but you just had not noticed it, I would say that you either have:- An earthing issue Mains pickup (less likely) Faulty powerlink module in the AVANT To test the first point (earthing issue) which in my view is the most likely cause, take

Actually Craig, a UK version will work in Europe because the only difference is the power plug, they are the same voltage. However you cannot use a UK or EU version in North America unless you connect it via a stepup transformer.

Tony, When the Beocentre stopped providing sound output, did it just stop while you were listening to something or did you switch it on one day and it did not work ? Also, have you been making any changes or modifications to you system prior to the problem ?
