Mine arrives tomorrow lunchtime! Will have to move the other TVs around!

Agree completely. This site is run by amateur enthusiasts for fun. A little of the cost of running this site is met by membership subscriptions but the majority comes from a few generous sponsors and the site owner. We therefore do this for fun and people who don't wish to enjoy things and who are determined to make things difficult or to insult

I had thought it was the power supply which has gone before, so I got a new one. Looking closely though, it would appear that it is the backlight though there is an initial slight flash when plugged in. May pull it apart to have a look!

The backlight on my Mermaid screen has stopped working. The LCD bit is still fine but you cannot see it!! Is this the end or is this sort of thing repairable?

We have decided the recordings are a little down in treble because of the record rather than any problems with recording method. Track 9 is actually a control - it is the CD!!
-
It will not really be a CL - I think his ultimate re-tip is the Shibata tip that Soundproof reviewed. The innards of these cartridges are all the same - I don't know why the CL is so temperature sensitive compared to the EN as I don't believe the suspension material is any different.
-
I think it is the record! So judge the recordings against each other!
-
Has it worked before in this scenario? How is it connected?
-
Have redone 9 and added Chartz recording - not as long but clearly different.

It is a PowerMac G5 which was supposed to be fairly useful in its day though it is getting on a bit. I wonder if it is the recording I have - sounds much the same through the record player direct to be honest! 9 is a control....
