It can be used as a media server with the standard DLNA - UPnP service. I have installed Twonky on the NAS as well. The BS5e works with both servers.

DLNA and uPnP server (on a NAS) works OK Twonky on NAS works OK USB does work well with tag info; only the mp3 with embedded covers are not shown correctly You can access your local network wired or wireless (note only 5Ghz; standard in Europe is 2.4 Ghz) iTunes is NOT DLNA or uPnP certified so for the moment it is not a server for the BS5e very good

the dac is very good. 96kHz 24bit sounds extremely good. I can't get the 192kHz working. I'm testing the BS5 Encore with BL5000 - excelent combination I skipped lossy music several years ago. Only when I'm on a trip or in my car I listen to lossy. Today I expirienced again why I made this choise!

The Beosound should run iTunes, it must be controlled bij iPhone/iPad/etc, it must handle Apple Lossless, it must have Airport installed, it must breath and smell like Apple.
