LOL you should see what our company use to attach change machines weighing 18kg to! A good sub frame and loads of screws mean't they were pretty secure though. However it is worth puting a lot of thought into any wall hanging excersise!

I was considering however I would be worried about the tuning wheel and general alignment of the panels etc. which might shift over time! - on a side note I think the reason they used plexiglass was to allow things to flex under the sheer weight! Yes yes & Yes :) I generally ignore people who say there has been a difference in the quality of 'x' unless they have performed a double blind test! Soren just wire a bulb in series mate. Variacs are of course very usefull for slow start and controlling the voltage in but a series lamp or resistance is useful without variac in many ways especially if you can't diagnose without blowing a fuse!

Nice catch some TLC should bring out the best of that system. Shame that the beogram lid is starting to show signs of the joints spliting. I have one like that and not aware of anything that can be done :( Beogram will need belts and TLC which you can achieve with the download of the service manual off this site. Are the amps going into standby due to too low signal level? (red LED?) If they are try increasing input level in the flap and check your laptop volume is adequate...?

No remote I assume. You could try connecting something like a beogram / cord with datalink see if everything comes to life. Really this is not something that you should tackle without prior experience and an idea where to look. These area delicate machines and need an experienced B&O technician IMO. I am sure someone could come up with suggestions

I missed thate Jacques yeah must admit many moons ago I tried a rubber band I was desperate though and it never worked of course!
