No need to mention that. Axel's service is very good. I accidentally bent the cantilever of my newly restorated MMC5 and he repaired it without charge. Similar, I had to send my MMC6000 back to him to get it to work on both channels without distortion.

You'll have to use a pre-amplifier, the signal coming from a cartridge is very small and in need of amplification and equalization to sound well. AFAIK, you are not able to control any turntable from a Beosound 3000, the Datalink (if it is equipped) plug is a little different and won't work with any Beogram.

I think that the RIAA-question is kinda overrated. A preamplifier of reasonable quality can be bought for about 50 euros: http://www.thomann.de/dk/art_deejaypre_ii.htm The Beogram 3500, 4500, 6500 and 7000 are expensive because of the included RIAA drawing the prices up. They are of course also somewhat rarer than the other Beograms. Not much hassle

Generally, the tangential (linear) tracking Beograms are the most desirable. The rarest of these is unquestionably the Beogram 4000, the first tangential tracker. Very similar in styling and sound quality is the Beogram 4002/4004. The next in the series is the Beogram 8000 and 8002, very precise mechanics and digital technology. These two first "generations"

I would say that the BM6000 is a fine audio master, though I don't think that the preamplifier section is as well designed as that of the 4400/8000. At higher volume levels, the loudness function stops (at 25-30 on the scale) and my S-75's (pretty bass heavy in nature) begis to sound thin and tinny. The 6000 is restorated with new caps and idle

I left the two under the power switch
So you'll never know what the receiver is capable of! I'm sure these are precisely the ones that affect sound quality the most!
I thougt just the same, but I was not in the mood for playing with free-style solutions

Wow, Looking good! I left the two under the power switch

I would reccomend Beovox S-75's, I am using a pair and they are really good. Replaced all capacitors in the crossovers, it sounded like a blanket was removed from the speaker! A recap is definitely a good thing to do with these old speakers, be they M-70's or S-45's(which in my opinion is a good speaker but they are bass light and too weak

Beomaster 8000 sold. Selling the Beocord 9000 alone then. Bids are welcome
-
@ Fakayata Great products you have there, I have them all myself. The Beomaster 6000/Beocord 8000 series is a great match and that 4400 shure will outperform many other receivers
