  • Re: SOMFY curtains and roller shutters

SOMFY are really big and well known here in France. All of our window shutters and garage doors are SOMFY controlled. The 4 remote doors we have all work great. An interesting thought about using a Beo4 for them. Let us all know how you get on as if you can get it to work, I'll consider the same (we currently have 5 remotes for the 4 doors - 1 for

  • Re: Beogram 4004 wood surround

Many thanks for the link Chris. I've sent an e-mail to Duncan and Derek. I think the 4002 and 4004 share most things apart from the ability to be operated by the remote from the Beo 2400. I'm also looking for a MMC20EN as it came without one. I'm not up to buying a new one from Soundsmith's yet though! Best regards, Dave.

  • Beogram 4004 wood surround

I need a full surround for my Beogram 4004. Condition isn't important as I can manufacture a new one (solid wood rather than veneer). I need a surround as a template. Any help appreciated. Many thanks, Dave.

  • Re: Century - handle screw dimensions?

Hi Matthew, the dimensions you give are broadly right (27.27mm x 2.78mm). Here is a picture of one of the scres. The head is slightly domed, with a single slot for screwdriver but will also take a 10mm hex driver. In the middle of my heads there is a brass coloured centre with a small hole drilled in it (part of the machining I'm guessing. Dave

  • Re: Beoworld Appeal

Thanks Peter for bringing this up. It was all too easy for me to forget how much effort, passion and time (and money) Lee has put into Beoworld to help make it what it is. Also the support of the moderators, technical experts etc - all unsung heroes. It was easy to just take it for granted so a reminder like this was very welcome. I've done my small

  • Re: Beopower 600 slight problem!

Hi Mika, the transformer is weighty but I'd be surprised if it could cause that much bending of the two metal retainers - they are quite strong and not that easy to bend. If anyone is up to the job of repairing or replacing the internals so I have a working system I'd be grateful (I'm no electrician).

  • Beopower 600 slight problem!

I've just received a Beopower 600 which I've been looking for for a long time. Described as 100% original (eBay) so imagine my upset when on hearing it rattle, I removed the screws at one end and all of this 'fell out'. Looking at the state of what look like alloy retaining 'belts' my thinking is that these were damaged well

  • Re: How-To : Replacing old caps with modern replacements

Peter, please go for it and post your cap replacement info. I'm an electronnics novice and before I break out the blow torch thingy to weld the insides of my failing units, any help is appreciated. When I first saw a thread on cap replacement, I thought it was a fashion statemement about hats!. As an aside, I look like a prat in a hat and once reduced

  • Re: John Wyndhams Beomaster 900K

Hi Ray, the first thing that drew me to B&O was the design, not the sound. I know what sounds good to my ears but am not an audiophile. I knew in the 1980's when I bought my first full system that B&O had a good reputation for sound but it was the sleek design and flashing lights that first hooked me. Though not shown at its best in this
