  • Re: Beo4 (+BV8) "loses" Apple TV connection

Sinuhe, My USA spec 32" BV8 occassionally does the same thing. I don't have an answer as to why this is, but I agree with the other people posting regarding the Apple TV's lack of sleep mode if you leave it on. For the record, my Apple TV is connected to my BV8 via an HDMI cord. I am using the "DTV" button on the Beo4 to turn

  • Re: Beovision 8 experience, does anyone here own one?

Billywicks, I have one (a BV8 32") that I have hooked up to a DVR / HD cable box as well as an Apple TV. jk1002, Soundcheck, Alex, and others helped me hook it up. I'm very pleased with the BV8's PQ. I'm an Apple nut, and I'm gradually matriculating to only using an Apple TV with high speed internet (and getting rid of my cable

  • Re: Sw 4.24 has now arrived for BV7-40/BS3/BV9

Regarding the Apple TV, I hope that this update and future updates of B&O television software incorporate new code to actually shut the Apple TV "off" (or, more accurately, put it in "standby" mode) rather than leave it on. I have a BV8 and I personally called one of the B&O product development guys here in North America

  • Re: BV8 and HDMI switch problems

Soundproof, Could the percieved delay be from the Scart convertor required to do component via AV2? I say perceived as I'm not 100% certain, but I've asked others and they fell that there's a little delay, too. Mark

  • Re: BV8 and HDMI switch problems

BeoDane, I share your pain. Though I never tried using an HDMI switcher with my BV8, I certainly found the BV8's lack of HDMI ports crippling. After consulting my generally unknowledgable B&O guys here in the USA (maybe they were oblivious to the BV8's nuances as it was such a new product when I purchased mine) as well as BeoWorld members

  • Re: Quick BV8 question

Sorry for the delay in follow-up on my part. Thank you everyone for responding to my original question. Trip, I hear a fairly quiet electrical hum when close to the TV and when it's "on" (but, yes, it is more noticeable in quiet parts of music or video). I can't blame the noise on cell phones, improper wiring (only using B&O stuff

  • Re: Quick BV8 question

Trip & Henry, Thank you for your responses. Trip, this isn't related to my cell being in my pocket, but I'm aware of what you're describing as my BL4s that I have attached to my computer have a lot of static when a cell call comes in. Henry, I only hear this low volume electric noise when the TV is on (i.e. not in Standby mode). I find

  • Quick BV8 question

Dear Gang, I happened to be standing very near my BV8 32" (USA spec) today and I noticed an electrical sound coming from the TV when there was no source playing. I have the TV hooked in to a high quality surge protector that's also supposed to keep the electrical signal coming in to the TV (and the BL3s that I have attached to the TV) very

  • Re: BV8 + AppleTV, Macmini or Playstation3?

I agree with Erg and Alex, and all the others who have been using their Apple TVs with their BeoVisions (like Soundproof and JK1002) -- it works very well. IMHO it is the first incarnation of the proverbial "digital hub" that will actually take off with consumers. I see no need for Blu-Ray; I think I'll let that medium pass me by as the

  • Re: iPhone movie on my Beovision Avant

Wei, I don't have any profound advice to offer regarding setting up your Avant with the iPhone (I had enough trouble hooking up my US spec BV8). However, I did want to share a brief story with you and the rest of the forum. We rented a condo at the Gulf Coast for a few days during the kids' Spring Break this past year. The condo was pretty slick
