pin 1 and 3 is sound out of the TV, used for VCR's. the sound wires in and out runs along in the same shield inside the cable, if the cable get bended to mush you can get interference like in your case.

It's best to cut, open the plug there you also can see the pin numbers

Ok then take your old cable, and the plug at the TV end you cut the wire for pin 1 and 3 then your problem is solved.

If you take the cable out on the back of your TV is the sound there still? if not the TV is OK!

Did you set the speaker to Video instead of Audio in the bottom of the speaker?

Yes it will work, BUT there has bin another SW issue with some BV7-40 where it didn't work...
