  • Re: Power Supply Broken

In the end, I got lucky, it was just the battery that was dud and it was replaced for free under warrenty. The screen still has some patchy/smudgy bits on it, though I'll wait to see if that disapears over time. It's totally functional so it's not a warrenty freeby

  • Re: Down loading records to my PC

Well, if you want to spend no money, you can easily record each side into your pc as a WAV file, thenhack it into seperate tracksand convert them to mp3's, if you hunt for free converters and the like. Personally, I bought Spin-It-Again last year to convert some of my LP's to the modern age (having gotten fed up with trial periods and the like

  • Re: Beocentre 6 as computer monitor

Well for £265 and some white paint, i chose to have 76 inches of projection on my wall. I'm curious about the resolution independance thing though. Currently I only switch to the projector for films because the text on my screen doesn't display properly with it. The screen resolution also changes when i put it in. I'll admit that I

  • B&O and 'bling'

Some of you will have seen the post with the speakers targetted at dj's. Simon raised a point about B&O appealing to the 'bling' community. This of course is a group of people with no intelligence but lots of money wholike spending it on certain brands. As such, Cadillac, Crystal champange and Burberry have been brought down from high

  • Re: Um..upgrade....i think not

First point, I suppose that it could have been a repair rather than a ruining. I've painted my speaker covers, though in my case it was to cover a tear on the cloth. Either way, for a good sound, you could always do the repair route as suggested Secondly, the "bling" point is a good one, though I'll start a new post one now that rather

  • Power Supply Broken

Well I got back from my business trip to China, to discover that despite wrapping it up well, a bottle of local whiskey I'd bought had brokenmid flight and spiltthrough my bag. Included in the list of wet items was my Macbook. Since then, I've left it to dry for a week and after powering up, it works fine; then I realised that it was on battery

  • Re: Setting up my home cinema again

Getting the AV setup is always the most important part of moving. This is even the case if it invovles emptying all the boxes onto the floor, making a terrificly huge mess, to find the power adapter, as was y experience the last twice I've shifted my stuff

  • Re: Beo5 - Practical shape?

I doubt it would be any worse than a BS2, and that has always seemed fairly stable (and crash resilient)

  • Re: New Stylus

I was lucky enough to buy one of the last batch in the UK; also gained one when I moved from my broken BC2200 to my BS5500. Now I'm just worried because they're back home in Scotland. Somewhere. In a cubboard.

  • iPhone down in price

Well, I just watched the latest apple presentation, and a drop in price for the iPhone to $399 for the holiday season. To put it blunty, I'm ruddy impressed. With the other improvements to the ipod line, I'm honestly tempted to switch from my Serene and BS2. All I'd need to do would be to pick up an iphone next time I'm in the states
