The MX monitors all power supplies. If the voltage of one path is not high enough or to high, it will switch off. Try the self test and the last error code, it will tell you if it was a power fail. "Menu 0 0 play" A cold cap will work better than a hot cap. So the time will become shorter and shorter. There is no real hot spot in a cap, it's

The AV9000 uses the same mainboard like the MX6000/MX7000. And the problems are quite the same... some capacitors and broken solders around the blue plastic caps. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/24571/191760.aspx#191760

And clean the surface with a paint thinner. The defect cap has lost acid, it can corrode the copper and it can make a shortcut. Grab and rotate works perfect, i do it the same way, never a defect copper layer. Clean the solder with a unsolder copper wire, sorry, dont know the english word for this item... There is no need to use smd again, quite normal

These smd caps on the picture are definitly gone, defect. It's visible, that the top of the cap is already round and deformed, not flat any more. At least the two bigger ones have got pressure inside. Replace them with quite normal caps and it will work again. 90% will do it... :)

... and some more things: broken solders on the cpu board connectors. Resolder them. If the BM was used in a link system: Replace also the 80C32 cpu chip. DO NOT USE: ATMEL or compatible 80C32x2 and NXP cpu's, they cause exactly this ir receiver symptom. I can only recommend Philips and Intel cpu's. These are verified.
