The consensus seems to be that the soundsmith cartridges are at least as good as the originals, and you cartridges you own already have known faults. There's no guarantee. Even if they work, the age is another isse, I may end up with another faulty cartridge in 6 months! Gracias;

Hello; I recently purchased two Beograms, 4000 and 4004. I was unfortunate enough (eBay) to have both cartridges damaged (only one channel works) . I made the continuity tests and the decks seem to be OK, therefore the need for replacing the cartridges. Having discarded going back to eBay for the replacements (it's just too risky), I'm thinking

I found where all those pieces were from. The white bearing and the soft washer were part of the tonearm motor (you were right Peter). The band was obvioulsy the one on the same tonearm motor. The spring is the one in the screws of the back plate of the dust cover. So far I have fixed: The sensor arm that was not parallel The tonearm would not reach

Opman: My guess is that most dealers will have an ex display model that they will be glad to see the back of. Why not just call/email any dealers in your area and make a silly offer. you may just strikw lucky Opman My dealer is using it for DVD playback on BV8's. Good match with the BV8 stand. I guess many dealers are giving them the same use.
