B&O must have more brand recognition on your side of the pond. I just can't fathom U.S. print pop media dropping the reference and average joes getting it. Sure, BeoCom 2 makes an appearance in The Devil Wears Prada but as the audience is unlikely to appreciate the point, the character states the price, which totally ruins the scene. Excellent

Sure, but like I said my gateway is for a very specific purpose. When we are at home, our cellphones automagically link to the gateway and the gateway connects to all line-2 phones in the house. So our mobiles ring on line-2 on the B&O house phones and when the B&O house phones make calls on line-2, the calls go out via the mobiles. U.S.-standards

Depends mainly on the analog adapter and the PABX itself. I can tell you I have a little gateway (like a little-mini-micro PABX for a very specific purpose) and my Beocom 3 and Beocom 1 phones get caller IDs when they ring on calls coming from the gateway. However, this happens only insofar as the gateway itself sends the correct signals. Bottom line
Not compatible at all (2.4Ghz vs DECT 1.9Ghz). My US Beoline, unfortunately, is going to be tossed (along with my two Beocom1s) to make room for the new system. I could keep them I guess but having two wireless phone systems going at once seems to defeats the point of an integrated system.
Went to see the dealer

Mine requires a tap. Touching it will not turn the backlight on. With regard to where is it made... (1) The plastic battery tray with the serial number reads: "Denmark © MMVIII", which may mean it is made in Denmark, or most probably does not mean that it is made in Denmark. (2) The brown box on which it came does not say where is it

First I was annoyed because I couldn't use the card to purchase a BeoTime. Fine, whatever, I'll use it for a Beocom 5. Then I read it must be used by Dec 31st and the Beocom 5 won't arrive till January. And the card cannot be used towards backordered products. What gives?

Most PABX vendors will sell you an "analog adapter" so you can plug any good old POTS telephone into your PABX. 2-line Beocoms would presumably benefit from plugging into TWO "analag adapters" so you could benefit from the multiline features.
I’ve ready many threads on the subject, listing all the various solutions out there, e.g. Lutron Rania, JBMedia etc etc. I was just hoping that there may be something that ticks all the boxes: 1. Reasonably priced (£225 for a single gang B&O compatible Rania when the non-B&O version is less than half

Yeah, nearly zero support for Macintosh. As if B&O customers somehow all use Windows products. Anyway, may I suggest as a workaround that you set your Mac to never shut down its display output via Preferences Panel.
the persons doing the marketing for the BeoCom 5 f***ed it up! Big time!
I agree! By the incredibly silly standard they used, they could have said that the BeoCom 5 is a satellite phone, an IMMARSAT phone, a Skype phone, a Bluetooth Gateway phone, etc., when, by all lights, it is simply a two-line
