I agree with Peter and Lee. I have a CDX connected to my BM 8000 and the sound is wonderful. Very 'analogue' as Peter says. Also with the BM 8000 you have the simplicity of hooking the CDX's RCA jacks straight into the 8000. If you could find one with the IR board and remote, you could also think about a CD50. These too have a nice 'analogue'

Thanks to you both. The Avant has cleaned me out, so I might have to look on eBay in the first instance I think, unless anyone has one they want to sell???

I don't want to hijack this, but I have a related question: Where can you get hold of the brackets that carry STBs at the back of an Avant? I just bought a 28 inch RF VCR Avant this morning, and would like to keep things tidy by trying to get my hands on one these brackets so I can stow my STB neatly away as soon as I get the Avant.
