  • Re: Talking B&O on Top Gear (BBC2)

I like the silly alarm clock! I hope mine arrives this week!

  • Re: Beomaster 4000, works, but

The fact it works, albeit in a limited fashion is encouraging, suggesting the transistors are working. I would recap and check the power supply - probably needs some replacing of a few variable resistors - one for a Dillen kit I feel!

Well it depends what you mean. B&O stopped making components and wiring and speakers some time ago. They still make some of the boards but more and more are outsourced. They design the electronic circuits though which is I am sure what you mean. No criticism intended Ed. I love my Avant too! On the Serene, JC used it to call Kristen Scott Thomas

Actually the tubes in later years were made by Goldstar who took over the factory from Philips. Even worse ! Just shows that one should judge on the set itself rather than its component parts. On SD broadcasts, the Avant still has the best picture I have seen.

  • Re: Who will be the first to have BV10 at home?

Sorry - not a great weekend - one of my cancer patients died at 3.00am on Sunday morning so I was up for some of the night! Recuperative powers not as good these days! Still catching up! Report will follow. Picture is excellent.

  • Re: BeoVision 7 40'' BluRay or BeoVision 10 40''

100mm from floor to the bottom of the frame though that is the back. The base of the stand is about 40mm thick. Very nice set - the only downside is the sound which is not as well rounded as my Avant which is not surprising. A brick wall should take the weight as long as you use the correct fixings.

  • Re: iTunes Plus

You are better buying the CD in my view - nice hard copy!

  • Re: downgrading from BL1

I don't think Pentas have more bass - it is just different. They have multiple bass drivers and the sound seems to have a slight lift to the upper bass level so it sounds more prominent - there are controls to alter the roll off. You will miss the clarity of the BL1 though - Pentas are a bit veiled in comparison but this gives a very easy listening

  • Re: Welcome BV7-55

If you order the 7-55 in the UK now, you should get it before Christmas. But you had better be quick! I don't think the 10 will arrive till after.
