Hello Beotexas, and welcome. I read somewhere recently that the amplifier section is not very good in the 9000 (maybe it was the 8500? ...wish I could remember which thread it was). Based on that, I would only use that system with active speakers. If you want passive speakers, go with a Beomaster based system like the 6000/8000, or seperates/stackables

I think the 5000 speaker is great no matter what the application, in vox or lab form (I've tested both). Below the labs are Beovox Cona subs. ...and on the TV is a screenshot of Futurama
