  • Re: Have B&O gone mad with their prices?

Beobird: I think that's the problem... We don't want Bang & Olufsen between Armani and Gucci. Those brands are made for the "upper" class I think a lot of people would disagree. You can buy Gucci fashion watches, handbags and accessories from many standard high street retailers. There are more chavs with Gucci or Armani 'brands'

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen sees FY loss on weak pre-Xmas sales

csmager: An uncompressed PCM stream from a DD 5.1 source will sound EXACTLY the same as the DD 5.1 source it was decoded from. It won't sound any more or less superior. I thought a standard Dolby 5.1 track was compressed, whereas an uncompressed PCM track was more superior (due to the lack of compression)? Many Blu-ray boast that they support uncompressed

Razlaw: Obviously they are wrong, and there are very few of them, but there are people who do believe... Razlaw, if you look carefully you'll find that there is always an opposite opinion from a valid one and vice-versa. You'll find an opinion or belief on anything if you seek it.. Although I buy in to your theory on improved sound on a Blu

xegoon: Hmmm, well, i could buy I don't buy in to this 'you get all these tech specs with your B&O TV...'. 99% of consumers do not need these 'features'. That's the big problem. Therefore this severely reduces your target audience. If you are forcing them to pay for cinema control, surround sound processor and so on, then

avus17: Do you think B&O have gone mad with their prices? I think the prices of TV sets are much to high. No, as they've never really changed. We can't say they've 'gone mad' as they simply haven't been reduced. It's not as if the BV7-40 is now £3000 more than it was, say, three years ago.

  • Re: BeoMedia 1, Apple TV, iPod Touch...?

Just buy a cheap Mac Mini, get an iPod Touch, set it up wirelessly and then connect an Airport Express to any audio device in your house. You can then store all your digital media, stream wirelessly and (at least) control volume etc from your Beo 4/5. Works like a dream for me (Peter and many others on here) and is <£500 depending on number

  • Re: Used Beovision 5 in full HD?

The_Beonic_Man: I am guessing somewhere between £3,000-£4,000 these days I thought the HD models still commanded a price of around £5000? Maybe a little more? It's the non-HD models that go for around £3500-£4000. It's fairly rare to see a HD BV5 appear on the second hand market.

  • Re: BeoVision 9

The_Beonic_Man: I have to be honest and say that I really don't notice much of a difference between the 7-40 Mark III picture quality and the BV9 (whatever version number) at all. There is definitely a difference. The colours on the BV7-40 MKIII are less 'red' than the BV9 when compared together. I prefer the tones on the BV7. As you say

  • Re: BeoVision 9

I think you underestimate the weight of the BV7-40. There's no way I could move it. Even shifting it a few inches, with a mate, was a major hassle. A 55" version will require three people to move it and will be bigger than the BV9! Besides, there's no guarantee or plans for a 50"+ version at this stage. Watching standard definition

  • Re: BeoSound 5 costs 4.710,-€

I think he means that you can store video on the device and playback via your TV. ie as a 'centre' not a 'sound'. I don't think anyone wants to watch video via the controller!
