I agree with KingStreet here. It's the enormous focus on share-performance that is breaking a lot of brands, forcing them to take short-cuts. B&O isn't losing money, but neither has it lived up to its potential -- which is actually a promising thing, in spite of the pessimism at the moment. If B&O had delivered its best efforts, and

¡Hola, Pollo! Hay un forum para hispanohablantes en BeoWorld, pero estoy cierto que lo has encontrado. Si no, vas a descubrir que los miembros aya tienen una buena onda. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/18/ShowForum.aspx

OK - we've had the "this is what they've done wrong" rant. Now let's focus on what it will take for B&O to regain our trust as to theirs being the brand we want to have our A/V experiences through. This will be coloured by our personal likes and dislikes, and I am certain there is no ONE answer -- but maybe the gist of a direction

Getting things in perspective - this is the B&O share's journey since january 2007. The latest downturn registers as just a tick compared to the year as a whole.

I "love" the notion mentioned above that B&O should produce its own plasma and lcd screens ... an interesting proposition. Not even SONY has made that plunge, and Pioneer is still not seeing a return of its enormous investment into plasma technology (about ten times B&O's total yearly turnover to date). B&O will "always"

I feel that a few critics are making the mistake of focusing too much on price, relative to a brand that is operating in the premium-to-luxury market. I can get a meal at Burger King, or I can go to El Bulli. I'd say that in spite of some weaknesses in the range, the B&O experience is still closer to El Bulli than to Burger King, and then it

ed7: Lunds DK: Count me in. Anyone thinking of buying shares now - seriosly, there half the price of january 2007. I mean, we all know that this is just a phase...... aren't we? Lundsby i was thinking of that too Wonderful letter, Peter. And Danish analysts feel that the market reaction as far as share value goes has been much too severe, as one

kallasr: Chrisreunion: But on the other hand, the past has shown that B&O always needed some desperate hours to wake up and come back with great products and longer-term strategies. Yeh, I remember in the 1920's..... No, seriously, what are you referring to? Did they struggle before because of lack to products or strategy or because of world

In Denmark analysts and investors are surprised by the firing, and consider it an overreaction by the board -- one analyst stating that it was the wrong signal to send now (after all - B&O isn't losing money), and that it will be very difficult to find a replacement for him quickly. (But who knows, they may have someone lined up already?)

I've got to support 355f on the scart/HDMI issue here. Once again: HDMI is created solely to let the owners of content control the use of that content, and a lot of spurious arguments have been made to make people abandon the connective methods that do not allow such control. The sooner they can get people to drop SCART, the sooner they establish
