  • BL5 wordlength and sample rates

OK - in spite of being able to ask some of the people who actually work on the BL5s, I've never been able to get a perfectly straight answer to my questions about wordlength and samplerates. I see that a member over at the B&O Community Forum is wondering the same, so I'll repeat his question here. Who knows - for certain? This is relative

  • Re: Linn FLAC files

The Beo4 controls the volume of the speakers. The BL5s can be set for different option versions for non-B&O equipment. What you want is a good conversion from Toslink optical to coax s/pdif. There are converters, soundcards and even receivers that will do that for you.

  • Re: "Beolab 2 is slow": what does it mean?

Dave: How many time are we going to reccommend the PV1 for setup's like these Here goes anyway, Try the Bowers & Wilkins PV1! It's fast (accurate), perfect for music and half the price of a BL2. The BL2 with its passive radiators, when listening to music, spoil the lower register - to my ears. I disliked what the BL2 did to my BL4000's

  • Are you using The Dictionary?

It's in your Applications folder. Place it in your Dock - it's been revised recently, and in addition to regular dictionary lookup it now also includes info culled from the Web, particularly Wikipedia, but also a lot of other sources. You can select which you want. I have mine on Dictionary lookup - that's instantaneous. But if you chose

  • Re: value for money

If this is B&O's market, then they don't need the stores -- they'd do wonderfully by going "underground" and supplying super high-end A/V to select customers, working through developers, interior designers, a/v customizers and their own bespoke services. (Which, by the way, is what Goldmund is doing.) B&O would then only

  • Re: BeoVision 3 and BeoVision Avant

Yes, should have added that the "chopped, but same technology" was for the 32" only!

  • Re: BeoVision 3 and BeoVision Avant

As long as you get the 100Hz, Real Flat screen, it's actually the same screen technology on both. The BV3 is a chopped Avant, created because B&O customers requested a smaller television than the Avant.

  • Re: Which TV should I buy - help!

I'm a Pioneer (508XD) and BeoVision 8 owner. Satisfied with both. Bought a Pioneer 428XD for my parents this Christmas, and they were ecstatic over the improvement in image quality from their Sony Trinitron CRT (high quality CRT image - but the transition was huge for them.) You might want to consider a flat RF BeoVision 3 - since "everyone"

mobeyone: I think it would be sad if we were to start correcting people on how they should address B&O on this forum..... no harm in how people choose to address the brand and to be honest.. there are more things to worry about in the world today?? Daz quite OK, Mobytoo!
