If you are handy with a soldering iron it isn't too difficult. I have done this successfully - as have other beoworld members. Simply buy a compatible AA 4 cell battery pack, There is nothing special about the original Ni Cad pack fitted to these, try searching ebay for battery packs intended for rechargible remote control model cars etc.....
