The connectors themselves cause no diffence whatsoever. However, on that product the 3.5mm socket seems to be for connecting headphones, so you should use the proper line out connection which has the RCAs. Take care that you get an adapter/cable that carries sound in the correct direction (from the DIN to the RCAs), or get an adapter with four RCA connectors

Hmm. I vaguely remember somebody posting a pic of a Beolink 7000 with a similar problem, only apparently much worse than this... I could of course take a pic but I believe it will be useless without a comparison. Have to see if I could get these two centers in the same place.

No, I'm not going to ask where to get a new one I recently bought a Beocenter 9500, which is externally pretty much flawless and has obviously been well cared for. However, the sense areas on the touch panel show through. They need rather bright ambient lighting to look annoying though, and I wouldn't normally think twice about them - but I

I know what you're thinking Ralf, but I don't think we are supposed to adjust the amount of help according to how many posts a person has. Plus, it's totally irrelevant in this case - there's nothing you could do about a forgotten PIN yourself even if you had posted two thousand times. So, contact your dealer.

I've never needed to do that myself, but on this 4004 I can see one more tab (and screw) on the right under the operation panel. Have you tried removing the panel first?
