So, assuming it is true, which it appears to be as dealers are telling customers it is, it will still be awhile before it is actually available, or is it available right now?

There is a thread on the German forum about BV7 and BluRay. It appears to say that a BluRay is now available and that it can be retrofitted to existing BV7s. Anybody able to translate the thread correctly and/or have any other info on this? Thanks!

I agree with you that the BL4s would be wonderful as computer speakers. I had planned to purchase a pair for just that use until my dealer offered me a pair of BL 4000s that had been on display in the store for only $800. Given that I was able to get the 4000s for less than the 4s I purchased the 4000s instead.
