Is there no way to have a replacement for this type of woofer? It really hurts to break up this unit. Maybe Martin Dillen can advise. Martin, help, where are you......

By the way, IPaul (Dutch member) has lots of experience working on these types of TV's. Sort of a whizzkid Maybe he can help answering your questions.
