Should be exactly the same, all MMCx models are the same apart from the cantilever and diamond. My two retipped MMC2's, the retipped MMC6000 with shibata needle and the retipped MMC5 with essentially MMC4 specs (done by Axel about a mong ago) are all playing well at the time of writing.

There are three screws under the buttom of the Beogram that lock the floating suspension system, as my brother in name says, you should firstly be sure that they are screwed all the way in the "Play" direction (counterclocwise). Next, check if the platter is properly "mounted" on the subplatter, it should be nice and level, just

That loks very interesting, would love to have those in my studio! The 12" bass drivers looks like SEAS with rubber membrane and your son is owning a Beomaster 2000 in rosewood, is he using it to drive (Yamaha?) monitors? Nicely equipped studio, though it looks like it could need a reel-to-reel recorder Being a student, I only use a Zoom R16 recorder

That insulation is definately original, the same is used for almost all other Beovox speakers from the period. The CX speakers were probably meant for use with a Beovox Cona subwoofer in the first place, thei design is naturally as bass-lacking

Almost all Beograms made after the Berogram 4000 are equipped with three-point suspension, in my opinion a vibration insulator is not needed

That is very good news! I agree that the tuner of this beast is very well engineered. the AFC-part being very very good. It's a shame that almost all FM stations here only offers super-compressed pop music these days...
