• Re: Beovox m70 woofer change

I can't say from the pictures which one looks original, but for reference, here's a head-on shot of some certainly original Seas 25F-EWX woofers. I built these around 1990. Seas themselves might have altered some mechanical parts during the production run, but I'd be very surprised if they had altered the voice coil diameter and still called

  • Re: Repair of Beocom 1500 Handset

Sorry, I just realized that 1500 is one of those models where the keypad is in the handset (I always mix these Beocoms up). Can't help you with that any further, but there is indeed a better chance that it might be possible to open it in a non-destructive way. The handset in 1600/2500 is welded, but apparently there's still a somewhat correct

  • Re: Repair of Beocom 1500 Handset

Unfortunately I believe the construction is similar to many plastic remote controls: it has been put together with ultrasonic welding, which makes the handset officially unserviceable. The seam is still the weakest part, so it should be possible to crack it open and glue it back together, but the result will probably show.
The question was what happens when something is deleted - I would guess/hope the algorithm is also launched when that happens.
No need. If a song is gone, it's gone, and can be simply skipped. That doesn't have to alter the relations of the remaining songs to each other at all.
The frets fits exactly into the box, and instead of making some pegs to fit it, I will glue it with double sided tape at 6 small points, after assambling and tests.
Lovely - if you like red! Consider using Velcro for attachment if there is room for 2-3 mm of extra thickness in between. Then again,

  • Re: Beosound 5 with Beosound 4
Should a remote now select "source" on the BS5 - [CD] versus [A.MEM] ? Should it allow track skips ? Backwards as well as forwards ? Random ? The list of user requirements could be endless .........
And as I said in an earlier thread, it would just create another - rather redundant - use case to complicate
Even if I generally agree with this post I think that the old amps are not a power concumption problem. B&O uses relay switches so when they are off they are really off.
You're right regarding Beolab 6000s - like most other Beolabs of this era they weren't the worst offenders, as they have a separate

  • Re: Beomaster 4000 (type 2408) Circuit Differences

It is indeed beautiful - I think the folks at B&O took some turns to ensure the 4000's had good looking veneer! I love mine as well, unfortunately it suffers from the noisy transformer syndrome too. Can you tell us more about that instrument in the rear? Looks like a series bulb in a desk power supply?

  • Re: Beolink 1000 - Which Mk is which?

Sounds plausible. Oh yes, there seems to be two types of screws as well, one with a much coarser thread - many people apparently use them interchangeably as well
My three bl1000s - all bought new from B&O between 1997 and 2000 - all look like a mk1 on the flipside. Strange!
That's odd since you bought them new - but the mechanical parts are all interchangeable to my knowledge, so you really can't tell much for certain from the rear shell if the remote is secondhand
