Hi Davmin, To answer your questions:- 1) Yes, you can get cables to connect Powerlink outputs to an RCA-equipped non-B&O amplifier/tuner. 2) Never connect amplified speaker outputs directly to your Beolab speakers, as this will cause very expensive damage to your speakers (and probably your ears!) Instead, use Attenuated Speaker Cables to reduce

Hi Lars, Sorry for the delay in responding to this thread, as I've been very busy in the last few days. Your Tandberg speakers need an amplifier to connect them to any modern B&O equipment, this can be done easily using a conventional hifi amplifier. Connect a "Powerlink to RCA Adapter Cable" to one of your Powerlink sockets on the

Sounds like a good day for celebrating - I've just hit 1,000 eBay feedbacks today Here's to BeoWorld - the best forum on the 'net! Steve.

Hi futurist, This sounds like it could be a problem with your house wiring, but I can't think what could cause this! Why not check the Beolab 6000's by plugging them into the Lab 1 Powerlink connections to check that they are OK when used with a B&O source? Has anyone else encountered a problem like this? Steve.

Hi SDB, They were rubber surrounds, so no risk of foam rot There's a long thread about foam rot somewhere in the Workbench area somewhere, I'll post the link if I can find it... Best regards, Steve.

Hi popester, The Attenuated cables can be provided with any type of connections, the pictures on the website show the most popular one (2 pin DINs for B&O amplified Beomaster/BeoCenter models pre-1990) - feel free to ask if you need any assistance. Best regards, Steve.

They do make life easier - I use them to connect Beolab 6000 speakers directly to the powered outputs of a 1977 Beomaster 1900. Sounds great and saves paying $$$ extra for an audio system with pre-out sockets! Best regards, Steve.

Hi Mani, Peter is quite correct (as always!) and there are many suitable AV Recievers to choose from. The best option is always to go for one that has RCA pre-outs to drive your Beolab speakers directly. The other method is to get a normal hifi amplifier and use Attenuated cables to reduce the signal level back down to line level for the Beolab speakers

Hi futurist, Never worry about posting "slightly inane" questions - we love them as they are easier to answer! If you need more info on the cables to connect your Mac Mini to your Beolabs, just click on my sponsor link at the foot of this page. For reference, the Beolab 6000's will only sense a music input when using the Line mode, as

Hi possessed, I can vouch for the phono stages sold by LifeStyle AV - I supplied them! Seriously though, I selected and tested the Vivanco phono stage in these kits using a Beogram 3000 and Beosystem 3500, so I can be confident that you will get a good result with your BG3000/BM3400 combination. The kit is intended to be a complete "plug and play"
