I feel I should know the answer to this question but since its advice I am giving to a friend, I thought I'd better be sure. Will the BG 1900 work with a BM 5000 or will it need an RIAA? Thanks

The open button on the front of a BM5000 that I have is driving me insane. It only works when the lid is loose or off. As soon as I tighten the lid into place it doesn't open. I can't understand why? Anyone able to shed some light on it for me? Otherwise I'm shoving the BM in some cupboard far out of sight to be forgotten......far too frustrating
