Ignace: My guess is that the Beosound 4 in a Link-room can be set to Option 6 and that BeoPort can be accessed from BS9000 and BS4. You are absolutely right, Ignace, and the answer is yes, you can have two audio masters in one system. The "secondary" audio master will need to be a BeoCenter 2, a newer BeoSound 9000 MKIII, or a BeoSound 4.

The answer is no. You need either a new audio master, or the software update.

beopaul: I'd prefer not to do this though, as the card is, I'm sure, a bit pricey. $380USD but as far as I know there isn't a difference between the B&O one and the Panasonic card for about the same price.

We also have the same problem with a client here and we're pretty baffled. Beyond losing control via RS-232 it seems that every time the serial cable is even plugged into the panel it shorts the entire thing out. If the RS-232 is plugged in the Panel's OSD ceases to show up using the Panasonic remote. We figured that obviously since the 232

The only thing that I've ever seen that comes close to that is a Signal Adaptor ... but that only has two pins on the speaker plug end which won't carry the datalink that shows the info on the displays. If anyone has any ideas as to get around this I'd really be open to trying it out at home!

They'll still sound great though!
