I've never seen a BM 6000 before other than behind a glass case at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. It's a gorgeous unit. Are there any silkscreened letterings on the underside? Is it possible to have a piece of tinted tempered glass custom cut and put in its place?

Hi Fredrik: That's a tricky one. I'm not sure that even if you did find a replacement, how much longer it would last as the plastic becomes brittle with time. That whole dust cover design including the adhesive metal cover was simply poorly designed in my opinion. Also the tension on the spring should never have been set so high. The best thing

Fredrik: Are the hinges where the rod threads through broken or the plastic tab that holds the back part to the chasis broken? If it just the tab you can use a good quality double sided tape to keep it from "bowing." Derek

This method works great too on M150 speaker grills. The plastic pegs holding the grill in place are prone to snapping off. You can get a pretty professional look depending on how much time you put into it. (ie clap the part in a vice and file away at it to get the original contour etc....)
