hi peter from my knowledge of the BV5 it should in theory have at least 60,000 hours of life before expected failure, and i am also led to believe that when the screen does fail, it will need re-gassing? but please dont quote me on that. jason

i would save it but i have no room as i have another avant 32" in my living room. when i get my BV5 the 32" will go in my bedroom. i might be able to sell it to someone who i know, who may well be happy to pay £300 for it... who knows ill keep you all posted. i know its going to be a monumental task but im used to challenges!

thanks nicky, i have 2 avants 32" 100htz and a 28" 50htz. the 28" is up for sale to help fund it. it had a new tube in it back in 2007, i had it in storage for 2 years and since the 32" came on the scene the 28" has been in my bedroom and not had much use. i paid B&O of milton keynes £800 for a replacement, that included
