  • Re: Avant on ebay with low service counters

The only thing I would add is that although the BV3-32 and Avant 32 are eseentially the same set, the Avant 28 and BV3-28 are very different with the specification of the Avant being much higher. I particular, the sound is much more basic on the BV3.

  • Re: Soundsmith, contact problems

I would expect a reply. A reply to an email costs nothing. Obviously it has been the holiday season but I would try another message requesting a reply.

  • Re: Is this B&O?

I thought the stand for the 9500 was glass and black? Good find!

    I don't think so.

It will work fine but most boxes can be controlled via the TV so you only need one remote. Obviously you can continue to use the Samsung remote to change channels. I just had a look on my Avant and could not find a Virgin box.

Bit stingy not to inclue the remote! You cannot work this set without it. If the box is not listed, it will not work. There are software updates but I don't know if they include this box. The BV3 is essentially the same as an Avant so will be the same. Interesting set of figures. A little younger than mine though video days are much the same. Interestinly

  • Re: Beogram 5000 re-balancing...?

Not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean the record does not seem flat on the platter? Or is the platter not flat compared to the deck? The first thing I would check is whether the record is sitting properly on the spindle. Sometimes the hole is not quite big enough and will not completely allow dropping so the record will appear warped. Usually there

  • Re: Beo5 Config tool instruction manual??

The software has a help file in it which will walk you through the features. You can certainly make your own logos - I did a number for mine for radio channels not covered - the help file takes you through this - essentially save the files as .jpg files - I think they need to be about 90 pixels square, but it was a while ago! However the reason that

  • Re: Beogram 4002 CD4

My 6000 had amplified sound whether it was switched to CD4 or not. The CD4 switch essentially diverts frequencies above 15 kHz to the decoder and thence the rear channels. The switch is useful as if you play most stereo records, it can activate the CD4 decoder and the ability to turn this off is necessary. The CD4 decoder is otherwise acyivated by the

  • Re: Beosound 8 review

Having seen the drivers used in speakers like the 6000, made in Denmark, I doubt the quality of the drivers of the BS8 have much to be ashamed of. I think it sounds pretty good though I would like to hear it back to back with another good dock.If you don't like the remote, use a Beo4.
