  • Re: Changing belts on Beocord 5000 (4705, 4715) -part 2

I followed Jari's instructions to the letter, with one addition. As Jacques noted, the transport assembly can be removed (at least on my Type 4716) completely from the rest of the deck by removing an electrical harness at the back. Jari's instructions are gold! Here's a shot of the main belt. That isn't going to get it done!

The forked lever is what's holding it down from underneath. I pulled upward while rolling forward and backward. After ten or fifteen seconds, it worked its way out. But there are also arms on both sides that have to be lifted out of slots. I am done with disassembly and taking a bit of a break.

Thanks to Martin, my belts are in! Going off to celebrate my wife's birthday tonight, but tomorrow she has to work, and the kids will be going to day care. Looks like tomorrow I'll begin work on my BC 5000 Type 4716!

  • Re: The 'Dark Side'.....

The entire living room system, aka the Kids' Home Theatre, is entirely Dark Side: Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II, Center Channel II, and Surrounds II; Sony Receiver; Samsung LCD and Blu-Ray; Panasonic VHS (yes, the wife has many "classic" Disney VHS tapes); and a Microsoft X-Box 360. After reading this thread, it appears I'm the

Benny Amina Amina Audio, aka Modular Electronics benny@aminaaudio.com 770-410-1122 I always start the process by sending Benny an email giving the model name/number and a description of the fault and asking him if he can fix that. If you click "Georgia" in my post above, that will take you to his web site. Good luck. I'm sending him my

Catching up on some recent Ebay purchases: Talking Heads "Speaking in Tongues." All wet, and you might need a raincoat...

Got my deck today. Waiting on belts. One doesn't fully appreciate the size until it's in one's hands! (Of course, it's probably tiny next to the Beomaster 8000....)

  • Re: Beogram 4000 Noise. Any ideas?

My receipt from Benny doesn't have any details regarding the motor. I'll take a look inside sometime this weekend and take a picture.

  • Re: Beomaster 2400-2 Problem

Welcome to Beoworld! Forgive my asking, but what is the matching CD player? I have a lamp and capacitor kit from Martin/Dillen that I never did use if you want to try replacing the lot on your own. "Several hundred dollars" sounds high. $150 to $250 would not surprise me, though. Benny Amina will charge you a bench fee of $50 in advance to

Let me be the first to say, "Bah, humbug!" But then take it back and say, "Just kidding, fellow BW's. Happy Holidays!"
